Sous le Ciel de Paris

Paris has many faces, it is the city of love, fashion and light.

Paris is also the capital city and government headquarters of France. Not to forget that art and architecture lovers can also enjoy Paris. We visited Paris numerous times and wrote a blog about it with our 'all time favorite' well-known and lesser-known places.

Pre bookings for Paris (recommended)

We booked our tickets for tourist attractions with 'Go City' and bought the 5 choice pass. For us, this was the best deal with a total of 38-40% discount on 5 attractions in the Explorer pass. A big advantage is that you can buy this pass in advance, download it on your mobile and show it at the entrance of the attraction you are visiting.

Just scroll on you app what you want to do and get inspired by all the lovely sights of Paris! Another big advantage is that 1-Day Big Bus Paris Hop-On Hop-Off Tour is included, if you fancy that. You can create your own list and the discount will be automatically settled. Note: if your plans change, you get refunded.

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Marceau Bastille, just a stone's throw from the Seine. Very lovely, picturesque hotel.

Our top 10

1. Eiffel Tower; it is a steep climb, but once at the top, you will be rewarded with beautiful views in a romantic atmosphere.

2. Musée du Louvre & Cour Napoleon; as fans of the Da Vinci Code, we of course had to visit this museum and see the museum's masterpiece: Da Vinci's Mona Lisa with your own eyes. be prepared for the bustle in front of the painting. Outside at Cour Napoléon (the courtyard of the Louvre) we enjoyed 'Pyramide du Louvre'.

3. A stroll along the Sein; one of the best ways to explore Paris is on foot along the Seine. Or a boat trip on the Seine at dusk, it doesn't get more romantic.

4. Traditional Parisian food & drinks, like a typical French Croque Monsieur, a macaron, a traditional French sweet crêpe, a Parisian style Breakfast with croissants and baguettes, an Escargot or Onion Soup and not to forget the delicious fromage Français.

5. The Notre Dame; whenever we are in Paris, we always walk past this beauty.

6. Champs-Élysées & Arc de Triomphe; the most beautiful shopping street in Paris is Avenue des Champs-Élysées. with at the end the Arc de Triomphe.

7. Montmartre, Sacré-Coeur Basilica & The Moulin Rouge; one of the most famous sights in Paris. this area is just brimming with creativity. We can stroll for hours here...

8. The Panthéon, known as the tomb of the city of Paris

9. Père Lachaise; a true place of pilgrimage for hippies and fans of posthumous celebrities such as Jim Morrison, Chopin and Édith Piaf.

10. Disneyland Paris
