Burj Khalifa

When we arrived in Dubai, we didn't know how quickly we had to get ready for the tallest building in the world... 'At the Top-Experience' is Dubai's number one 'must see & must do'! In our opinion, you can't leave Dubai without doing this.

The Burj Khalifa is one of the most famous skyscrapers in the world, with a total height of 828 meters, making it the tallest building in the world. Construction of the tower began in 2004 and took six years to complete. The official opening took place on January 4, 2010.

If you want to experience the Burj Khalifa in a different way: try the lovely walking route around the Burj Khalifa. It is surprisingly fun and you will see a completely different side of the Burj Khalifa.

Exhibition

Before you get to the elevator to go up, you first walk through an exhibition about the construction of the Burj Khalifa. At the end of this exhibition you find a miniature of the Burj.

124th and 125th floor

We have been to the 124th and 125th floors with the elevator that goes up at a speed of 42 kilometers per hour. It is one of the fastest elevators in the world (you really need to swallow a few times to reduce the pressure on your ears). In no time you get off on the 125th floor, which is located at a height of 456 meters above the ground. The observation deck (outside platform) is located on the 124th floor, gives you a 360 degrees view of Dubai at a height of 422 meters above the ground. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a hazy day, but we were able to see enough and it was beautiful.

Burj Khalifa instashoot ;-)

After our visit to the 124th and 125th floor, we went outside (the Dubai Mall) to the central square in front of the Burj, where also the fountains show is, which we saw in the evening (it is on another page on this website). We did an 'instashoot' of all of us with in the background the Burj, which is really hard to get it all in one picture. The Burj and the fountains are top tourist attractions with around 17 million visitors a year.
