Wadi Showka Ras-al-Khaimah

Shawka means 'powerful wadi'. It is a seasonal watercourse located at the Showka Dam in the Hajar Mountains of Ras Al Khaimah. At the time we were there, there was not much water in the Wadi, but nevertheless, the setting was beautiful and adventurous. We climbed the stairs to the highest point (421 mtr) and then descended over the ridge of the mountain back to the starting point. After 2-2,5 hours, we reached the car again and we had a drink at one of the food stalls. It was an hour drive back to Dubai.
