Wadi Shees Sharjah

We visit Wadi Shees as the second part of the day trip we did this day. First we visited Rafisah Dam which is 14 km up to the North. Wadi Shees is a very popular spot in the UAE, lots of people spent a day at the Shees park, which is therefore very busy (we did not do the park). We drove a bit further to the starting point of the Wadi Shees Nature trail. This walk goes along an old village, the old water transportation system, some plantations, terraces gardens and all kind of biodiversity. The highest temperature ever measured there is 32 degrees, so it is a very cool place in UAE (because of all vegetation). Nice and educational. The trail ended on the main road, which, at that point, was only about 300 meters form the Oman Border.

After the trail we went back to the starting point and walked to the Wadi, we walked through it as there was only a little water in it and went as far as we could into the gorge. So cool and beautiful (too bad people leave their rubbish here :-( 

We finished the day with a fresh made juice in this 'pineapple food truck' which we found along the road back home :-)
