Dubai Safari Park
Dubai Safari Park is home to approximately 3,000 animals, with 78 species of mammals, 50 species of reptiles, 111 species of birds plus amphibians and invertebrate. The park is about 120 hectares in size. There are 4 main sections or area's: African Village, Explorer Village, Asian Village, Arabian Desert Safari, and 1 connecting area called Al Wadi. The park opened end of 2017, after a total renovation of the former Dubai Zoo. They offers many shows, feeding moments and tours, and given the good price / quality / quantity ratio, a visit to the park is definitely worth the money. During the hot season they use lot of mist fans and they offer many indoor experiences. Nice to know: the main energy source of the park is solar energy.
African Village
We started our trip in the African Village. Home to the elephants, hippos, chimpanzees, hyenas, lions, many reptiles (in the reptile house) and many more. We loved this part of the park as it is so beautiful designed and colorful styled.
Explorer Village
This area is home to many animals, such as the giraffe, impala, zebra, springbok, rhino, African buffalo, tiger, brown lion, Nile crocodile, cheetha and sable antelope. We also watched the bird show, which was very funny.
Safari Journey
We booked the package including the 45 min. Safari Journey, which contains a safari bus drive-through tour along the lions, crocodiles , buffalos, tigers, hippos, rhinos, zebras, elephants, baboons, cheetahs, antelopes, hyenas and giraffes. This was soooo cool, recommended if you go to this zoo.
Breaky break
Asian Village
Influenced by the elegant architecture of the Asian continent, the Asian Village is a showcase of Asia's diverse culture. This area is rich in with a huge variety of wildlife, including bears, Asian flora and fauna, and lush ponds. Unfortunately, we missed the 'amazing creatures of the world show', we will do that next time.
Arabian Desert
We finished the day (as we started to get roasted) with the Arabian Desert. Thank goodness, we could do this by bus, and this was very relaxing and joyful. We saw, of course, the Arabian oryx and many deer. We couldn't go home without a visit to the souvenir shop and the kids came home with a toucan and a feline teddy bear. We definitely come back to this amazing Safari Park, as because we haven't seen everything yet.
