Falconry & Wildlife Safari
We booked the Heritage Falconry tour with our friends Wim and Birgit. As an integral part of desert life in Arabia, falconry dates back more than 2,000 years and is extremely important to the heritage of Dubai. During the interactive birds of prey demonstration, we learned about the ancient techniques and traditions of what makes falconry so significant in Emirati culture. We got the opportunity to let Harris hawks and Barn owls fly to our glove and we partake in other impressive aerial tricks.
Private wildlife tour in a vintage Land Rover
After this impressive demonstration, we had a traditional Emirati breakfast in an authentic Bedouin camp, followed by a short camel ride around the camp. As last part of the trip, we experienced an adventurous wildlife drive in a private vintage Land Rover through the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (Margham, Sharjah). We spotted the Arabian oryx, a native animal, which we had never seen before. Truly, a great trip, recommended!
