Al Zorah Mangrove
We booked a kayak nature tour in Al Zorah Mangrove Forest in Ajman (Quest for Adventure), one of the 6 other emirates. Al Zorah Mangroves is an ecosystem that spans an area of over 1 million square metres, the thick, natural mangroves of Al Zorah is home to over 102 species of native and migratory birds including the famed pink flamingoes that can be spotted throughout the year and more so during the nesting season. The area is abundant with a variety of corals, fish, molluscs and indigenous flora, as well as scientists and researchers to conduct field studies. The tour started at the club house of Quest for Adventure, where we had to gather for the equipment and a coffee. From there, we drove to the starting point of the kayak tour, which could only be reached by a winding hiking trail through the mangrove (beautiful!). The kayak tour lasted about 2 hours, and it was truly lovely, we enjoyed very much.
We finished the day with a BIG lunch at The Grove Restaurant overlooking Al Zorah Natural Reserve Mangrove.
