Dubai highlights tour

This tour has it all. We started in the historic district, Al Seef, that is filled with traditional Emirati buildings all connected by interconnecting alleys. The architecture is stunning, and there are many restaurants and cafes. The ride by traditional dhow (abra) is part of the ‘Old Dubai Experience’. On the other side of the creek, we visited the gold and spice souk. After some shopping, we continued, first to the Burj Al Arab, where we stopped and took some pictures. And then on to The Dubai Mall, where we could stroll around in the mall and across the square outside, and could watch the light and fountain show. A lovely day, great experience!

Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood

This part is the oldest part of Dubai and characterizes itself by souks, the busy Dubai creek full with abras and watertaxi's and the old settlements of the city. Since oil exports began in 1962, the country's society and economy have been transformed. The UAE has diversified and has become a regional trading and tourism hub. The old historical city is nowadays a popular tourist destination, visited by millions of people every year. We visited the old city many times, it is always a joy to stroll through the narrow streets, old houses, galleries, mosques, the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for cultural Understanding  and to have lunch in one of the traditional tea houses with their lovely courtyards.
