Stray Dogs Center Umm Al Quwain (UAQ)

It is very sad to see so many dogs being discarded in the UAE. The Stray Dog Center is a private animal shelter, non-profit, that was established in 2013 and relies on public support to operate. Many stray dogs are sheltered here and treated in a human way. As truly dog lovers, we decided to sponsor the center by booking a dog walk. We had to pay 150 dirhams (it is about 35 euro) for walking with three dogs for one hour. The money is used for dog food, equipment, medical treatment, etc.. And the dogs get the opportunity to go outside for a walk, so it works both ways. Despite the misery behind this initiative, we really enjoyed this day with mixed feelings.
