Escape to Al Noor (Butterfly) Island in Sharjah 

What a lovely day-trip we had to Al Noor Island, a small island in the Khalid Lake in Sharjah. It is particularly known for its beautiful designed butterfly house. Since its opening in December '15, it won many prestigious awards: the Best Leisure Architecture in Africa & Arabia '16, the IF Design Award 2017 and the German Design Award in '17 & '18. 

To reach the island we had to cross a bridge and at the end of the bridge you can go in two directions. The island is beautifully landscaped, with winding paths, artefacts, play facilities and nice viewpoints. We had a delicious meal and drinks in the restaurant. The butterfly house is beautiful, the butterflies come to you and sit on your hand. The entire island is very lush and diverse in nature. Recommend for a nice day trip to Sharjah.
