Kalba Bird of Prey Centre at Al Ghayl Castle

In the bird of prey centre, you can find all kind of raptors, such as the resident bird, the falcon, the national bird of the UAE, and migrating wild raptors, like the barn owl, short toad snake eagle, greater spotted eagle, and lappet faced vulture. 

Free-flying raptor show

The Kalba Bird of Prey Centre has free-flying demonstrations, along with aviaries housing owls, eagles, buzzards, vultures and, of course, falcons. We watched the 4  o'clock show, which was amazing, see the video's below. 

Al Ghayl Fort

The bird centre is located at the foot of the Al Ghayl Fort, which was built in the beginning of the 19th century. The name of the fort was inspired by the ancient 'Al Falaj' or irrigation channel, because this area is known for these channels and natural springs. We visited the fort after the raptor show, with sunset, which provides this beautiful light.
