Oman by dhow boat

Wow, what a magical trip we had in the northern part of Oman. We did a private overnight Dhow cruise from Khasab - Musandam (for one night).  Musandam is an exclave totally surrounded by UAE, with the Strait of Hormuz (which it shares with Iran) and the Gulf of Oman forming Musandam's coastal boundaries. The cruise was really amazing, with lots of activities such as snorkeling, swimming, fishing, visiting Telegraph and Seebi Island, and our favorite part, watching the dolphins, and there were so many of them, just beautiful.

Here is our itinerary ⬇️

Day 1: Dubai - Tibat (bordercrossing) - Khasab/Musandam (overnight Dhow boat Persian Gulf)

Day 2: Khasab - Khasab Castle - Bokha Beach - Dubai

Total km: 400

You get a visa on arrival. We applied for an Oman visa at the border, but since 2023 Oman is visa-free for GCC-residents.

We left by car from Dubai and crossed the border at Tibãt (this borders with RAK). After the boarding crossing, it took about one hour to drive to Khasab, which was a truly beautiful road-trip. We had to board in Khasab Musandam and the trip lasted from 10am until 9am the following morning. It included lunch, on-board live BBQ dinner, breakfast and refreshments throughout the cruise. The crew took very good care of us by preparing food, serving drinks and arranging the sleeping facilities on the deck. No wifi or internet coverage, just quality time!

Khasab Castle

We extended our trip with visiting Khasab Castle and spend some hours at the beach. The Omani people are so kind and happy to see tourists coming to their country. The one way trip was about 200km from Dubai. Total km: around 400.
